After catching up with C for lunch today, we both agreed that everything has fallen into place.
Things may not seem good at the time, but looking back on the past few months, I’m thankful for everything that has happened that has led me to how content I feel today.
I’m sitting here tonight, enjoying the last of the calm-ness, the last night of no working or studying because tomorrow, I return to both for the first time in 4 months.
I’m looking forward to routine & knowing my timetable & availability for the next 6 months.
I’m looking forward to starting something fresh (university) and learning new things and I’m also looking forward to work and devoting more effort to a new direction.
I have some goals I want to achieve this year, mainly just basic stuff like maintaining a savings account whilst also passing all 8 units this year. Are both possible at once? I guess I’m going to find out this year!
On Monday, I go back to work after having 16 weeks off. I don’t know what my hours will be, I hope it’s still as flexible as before where I could work anytime between 7am- 5pm (I used to work 7am- 3pm most days) because I have an important task to juggle this year- full time uni.
For uni, I have to go in Tuesdays 6pm-7pm, Wednesdays 6pm-9pm & Thursdays 6pm-8pm for Accounting & Communications and because I’m doing Management & Marketing online, I’m thinking of going into uni on Saturdays & Sundays for a few hours at a time because I know I can’t focus at home.
So this weekend, I’m trying to catch up with as many friends as I can as well as relaxing because I have no idea when I’ll have this sort of freedom back.
Today I caught up with a friend for lunch at my soon-to-be new local pub called ‘The Gate’. He lives only down the road from the pub & my house at the moment is only 10 mins drive away (soon it’ll be less than 5!)
This is what I wore today:
I went shopping last week & I picked out a few tops & dresses on sale. After arranging them all on my bed, I noticed a little pattern in my buys..
I didn’t realise how much I like creams & pink tones!
And wearing one of the dresses
All up, those 7 items cost me $60 AUD. How’s that for good bargains!
I’m the kind of person that struggles with letting go, whether it’s clothes, people or things I’ve been given but after living in a suitcase for 10 weeks, I came back with this sudden urge to get rid of a lot of things in my life, starting with the things I never wear or use.
These converse sneakers must be at least 5 years old….a very long time of sitting around!
Heels I will never be able to walk in, no matter how hard I try & have tried. I’ve worn the bottom right ones only twice! I sure know how to waste money!
I counted 82 items considering I’ve only lived in Australia for 4 years, that’s a lot of stuff to be getting rid of!
I’ve tried getting rid of these dresses before…2 years later, I still haven’t worn them. It’s definitely time!
So I’m thinking I’ll invite some friends to come over in the next few weeks, see if they would like any of my stuff because majority are my size or smaller, then I’ll try the local markets & if anything is still left over, I’ll give the remaining to the Salvation Army.
I’m going to put a few items on Ebay like the heels, dresses & a few tops because they’re still in near new condition.
I think my trip away has finally taught me the most important lesson in life, how to let go.
I was videoing the guy dancing but look what interrupted at 0:17, something you definitely don’t see at every festival!
I’m not a massive festival head these days, I prefer small, intimate shows BUT the line up for Good Vibrations this year was too good not to see. For bestie’s birthday, I bought her a ticket because one of the headliner’s was Ludacris, someone whose music we’ve been following since 2002.
Here’s the list of artists that attended Good Vibes this year: ones in bold I saw
Faithless, Pheonix, Nas & Damian Marley, Sasha, Ludacris, The Ting Tings, Kelis, Miike Snow, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Fake Blood, Rusko, Sidney Samson, Mike Posner, Yolanda Be Cool, Koolism, plus others I cannot be bothered naming now..
Overall, the day was heaps of fun, it was really overcast which I was super happy about, was NOT keen on sun stroke yet again.

People getting ready for Ludacris..
The man himself, Ludacris!!
It was such an incredible set, Ludacris definitely did not disappoint!
