Locked out

Last night, I got to university 10 minutes early, so proud of myself- I’m never early. I went to put my raincoat on, turned around and my car door closed shut…locking my handbag, books and keys on the front seat.

It was one of those moments where you stand there thinking, “did that really happen??” I thought about calling for roadside assistance but after finding out there’s a one hour waiting delay & a fee of $350, I thought it’d be cheaper and easier to just smash the window.

Because I was on campus, I thought to call security, surely they have a hammer or something. But luckily, there was no smashing involved. Two security guards spent an hour trying to unlock the car with a coat hanger…something I’ve done 3 years prior (this is the 3rd time this has happened). Finally, an hour and a half later, they were able to unwind the window from inside the door and I was off to my 3 hour property lecture…talk about determined!

Boys and girls, always have a spare set of keys!
